Meet Marc
Marc is a Partner at Eclipse and co-leads the firm’s growth investment strategies. He is passionate about identifying disruptive companies that have the ability to change the way we build, scale, and operate in the physical world.
Marc believes that regardless of industry or go-to-market model, there are common truths all startups face to achieve breakout growth and scale. He is excited to bring his decades of operating experience derived from leading brands across multiple industries, numerous commercial models, and various levels of scale to the Eclipse portfolio of companies.
Prior to Eclipse, Marc spent five years at Apple running Worldwide Sales Finance where he was responsible for managing and funding the growth of Apple’s global sales channels, which grew over $100B during his tenure. Following Apple, Marc was an early investor in Anaplan and served as CFO. Most recently, he was the President and COO of Nextiva, a leading cloud communications company. During his four years at the company, Marc grew revenue by over 50% and helped secure the company's first external financing, raising $200M and valuing the business at $2.7B. Marc has served on multiple public boards, including Arista Networks, Earthlink, and Windstream, and on numerous private boards across industries from consumer electronics to healthcare.
Marc began his career as an electrical engineer working for Compaq Computer. He spent several years running buy-side equity research for Julius Baer Asset Management covering the technology sector. Marc also spent numerous years at CA Technologies (FKA CA, Inc. and Computer Associates International, Inc.) where he was initially responsible for corporate strategy and business development, and grew into the Corporate Controller.
Marc has lived, worked, and built teams all over the world, but his true passion project is focused on finding a cure for pediatric congenital heart disease (CHD), a disease his son was diagnosed with at the age of two. Seven years ago, Marc joined forces with an effort within the Mayo Clinic focused on delaying and preventing heart transplants in children. Most recently, the team has spun out of Mayo forming HeartWorks with a focus on curing CHD and now, is leading the world in regenerative medicine with its recent FDA approval.
